12 Variations on Diversion 12

Have you ever created variations of a piece with your students?

Exploring the elements of the pieces in a creative way and varying them to create new music will help students better assimilate the concepts we want to teach them, in addition to being a very motivating activity.

If the students understand the elements present in the piece (rhythm, meter, key, harmony, and other technical and musical ingredients), it won’t be difficult for them to change them and explore how the same piece would sound with some of these elements altered.

To see more ideas on how to create variations with your students, read the post I have written on this topic.

Use the free PDF as an example of how a piece can be varied in a simple way.
